What Pace Monitor reads from the board

What PbmsTools shows on a laptop, available all the time without one.

  • Every few secondson the screen and at home
  • 3 yearsof history in the free Cloud
  • 0settings written to your battery

Plug & playConnect the cable, pick your Wi-Fi, and that is it, in roughly a minute. The box comes set up for your Pace, with no app and no tools.See the 3 steps →

Live values

Everything your Pace board measures, without Bluetooth

Read from the RS485 port, refreshed every few seconds, explained in plain words.

Every cell

  • Each cell voltage
  • Lowest, highest and average
  • Cell gap (delta)

The cell that drifts is the one that will limit your whole pack: you see it first.

Balancing

  • Balancer on or off
  • Balancing current, where the board reports it
  • Cells being balanced

Know whether the balancer actually works, and when.

Pack

  • Voltage
  • Current
  • Power
  • State of charge

What the pack is doing right now, charging or discharging, and how fast.

Temperatures

  • Cell probes
  • Power MOSFET or board

A garage in winter or a hot loft in summer: you see it before the BMS limits the current.

Switches and protections

  • Charge and discharge switches
  • Protections raised by the BMS
  • Alarms, explained in plain words

Understand why the battery stopped charging, without opening the app next to it.

Capacity and ageing

  • Remaining and full capacity
  • Cycle count
  • State of health, where the BMS reports it

Follow how the pack ages, month after month.

Model and firmware decide the final list. Give us yours with the order: the box leaves prepared and checked for that exact model.

Not just numbers: answers

Instead of raw registers, the dashboard answers the questions you really ask.

Why the balancer runs, or not

In one sentence: balancing from one cell to another, waiting for the start voltage, or resting under the trigger.

The cell that drifts

The one that runs ahead at full charge and falls behind when the pack is low: usually the weakest cell.

The gap, day after day

The cell gap at the top of each charge, with its trend: stable, shrinking or growing.

Time to full or empty

At the current pace, when the pack will be full, or reach its cut-off.

Alerts

An e-mail when something needs you

A one-off setup per box in the free Cloud, then e-mails arrive on their own, without any app running.

  • The box goes quietSilence for 6 hours usually means a power cut, lost Wi-Fi or a cable pulled out.
  • Charge below your thresholdBefore the reserve is gone, not after.
  • Temperature too highA hot loft or a blocked fan, caught early.
  • Alarm raisedA protection or alarm from the BMS, with its meaning.
  • Cell gap too wideSet your own limit in millivolts.
History

Three years of curves, free

The screen shows the present. The free Cloud keeps everything else.

  • Day by day, hour by hour14 days of energy at a glance, then any day in detail.
  • Up to 3 yearsCompare winter and summer, this year and last.
  • CSV exportEverything stored, ready for your spreadsheet.

In detail

Pace Monitor, value by value

Pack

  • State of charge and state of health
  • Remaining, full and design capacity, where the board reports them
  • Voltage, current and power, charging or discharging
  • Cycle count

Cells

  • Up to 16 cell voltages, with min, max, average and spread
  • Which cells are being balanced, on firmware that reports it

Temperatures

Cell probes, MOSFET and ambient: up to six values depending on the board.

Warnings and protections

Warnings, protections and faults, decoded into readable text, and the current state of the pack: charging, discharging, standby.

Same board, many names

Battery makers order Pace boards and fit them under their own brand, with different firmware and front panels. Owners report Pace boards in Jakiper and Gobel Power racks, among others, but the label alone proves nothing: two batteries with the same name can differ. Tell us the battery name, the board reference if you can see it in PbmsTools, and send a photo of the front panel: we check and test that version before shipping.

Questions about what it shows

Which Pace values does Pace Monitor read?

The values your Pace BMS shares on its RS485 port: SOC, voltage, current, power, cell by cell, temperatures, health, cycle count, status and alarms. The list varies with model and firmware; mention yours when ordering.

How often are the values refreshed?

On the screen and the local dashboard, every few seconds. On the free Cloud, which stores the history, roughly every 2 minutes.

Can Pace Monitor change a setting by mistake?

No. Its requests are read-only, so no setting, mode or limit of your equipment can be altered by it.

Can I see my values without an internet connection?

Not at home. Screen, local dashboard, Home Assistant and JSON API only use your local Wi-Fi. Internet comes into play for the free Cloud alone, which lets you check your system from elsewhere.

Can I export my data?

Of course. Download a CSV from the free Cloud (history kept 3 years), or read the live values yourself over MQTT or the local JSON API.
