Pace Monitor: technical specifications

Everything about the box, its software and the free Cloud, on one page, for your Pace battery.

  • 1.8"colour screen
  • < 0.5 WUSB-C 5 V
  • 2.4 GHzWi-Fi
  • RJ45RS485
  • Read-onlynever writes
  • 2 yearswarranty

A Pace board knows a great deal about the rack it protects, but getting at it normally takes a Windows laptop, PbmsTools and a serial cable. The box stays connected over RS485 instead, and records a history you could never build from an occasional visit with a laptop.

The board is sold to many battery makers, with firmware that varies. This edition targets Pace boards speaking the protocol documented for the P16S series. Tell us the name of your battery and send a photo of the panel when you order, and we test that version before shipping.

Technical questions

Does it need Ethernet?

No. The box connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. The RJ45 socket is for the cable to your equipment, not for a network.

Can it run on a power bank or a 12 V system?

Yes. Any USB-C supply works: power bank, 12 V to USB adapter like those in cars, or a phone charger. Consumption stays below 0.5 W.

How far can the box be from the Wi-Fi router?

Test with your phone next to the equipment: if it gets a decent 2.4 GHz signal, so will the box. Otherwise add a basic Wi-Fi repeater.

Does it get firmware updates?

Yes. A new version installs from the box’s Update page in a few clicks, and your settings are kept.
